• The Warrior Servant Martial Arts (WSMA) was started in 2007 in the community room of Fayette Community Church in
  Fayette, Iowa by Sensei James Tenney and had 2 students. In 2008 a children's program was added. They had grown.
  Sensei James Tenney then moved the Fayette classes to Upper Iowa University and they continued to grow. In 2012 a
  second WSMA school was started at the Valley View Weslyan church in West Union IA. 2015 both schools were combined
  when the Main Street School was opened in Fayette. In 2020 we closed the school due to covid. When we opened back up
  Sensei DC Tenney, Shihan James Tenney’s son, was put in charge of managing the Fayette Dojo. March of 2024 Master
  James Tenney opened a second location in Maquoketa Iowa.

Shihan (Master) Tenney has over 25 years in training, serves on the board of the Ambassador Martial Arts Christian
Fellowship, and has black belt experience in multiple arts. He is the Founder of the Warrior Servant Kenpo Ryu. He has
taught in Churches, Universities, Schools, Law Enforcement Officers, and other community groups. His main goal is to
Equip, Encourage, and Empower people who can then go out and Equip, Encourage, and Empower others.

Sensei DC Tenney has over 18 years of training in multiple martial arts. He has trained in Son Shield Kenpo, Warrior Servant
Kenpo, Shinsei Sohei Do, Shinsei Kenpo, Shinsei Arnis, Mu Wu Shyr Quan Fa and more. He served on the WSMA demo team
for years, and has been teaching at the WSMA Since 2021. He traveled with his father Shihan Tenney teaching and doing
demonstrations in Churches, Camps, Schools, Universities, and other locations.

Sensei Alyssa Tenney has been with the WSMA for over 8 years and has earned her Black Belt in Three Different Arts. She
served on the WSMA demo team almost since she started. Sensei Alyssa is passionate about women’s self-defense, and
traveled for years with Shihan Tenney to teach women self defense. She now teaches at the Fayette WSMA dojo with her
husband Sensei DC Tenney.
